Meet Alan, The RISE4Disability Online Accessibility Expert

I’m Alan Wallace, and for the past two decades, I’ve been at the forefront of tech innovation, driving success for blue-chip giants like Sony, IBM, IKEA, and KPMG. My leadership in developing cutting-edge financial applications has seen me master a range of full stack development and my personal favourite, Blazor programming.

My journey took a profound turn in 2013 when I became an advocate for disability rights, a cause close to my heart as my mother has been registered disabled for most of my life. In 2022, life threw me a curveball with an autoimmune condition that left me disabled for six challenging months. Struggling with basic tasks, like navigating a computer file system, deepened my empathy and reinforced my commitment to accessibility.

In 2023, I turned this passion into action by organizing the Disability Expo, one of the largest events of its kind. Today, I continue to champion accessibility, merging my technical prowess with a mission to create inclusive digital spaces for all. My journey is about more than just tech—it's about making a difference, one accessible interface at a time.
